Why Vinyl Flooring Is A Rising Trend For Flooring

Updated: Mar 29, 2022

The picture of a home such that it is just not complete until the floors are laid. You’re either constructing your own new house, or you’re looking for renovating ideas that might make your house feel more like home.

Flooring can also be an expensive element of renovating costing above 20$ a square foot for the lightest ceramics. But as some might’ve been complaining about the vinyl records of the 90s going out, well since the vinyl flooring is in.

Vinyl flooring is most cost-friendly and if rightly laid and installed, quite durable as well. The latest vinyl flooring trends are all circling around the following three types of vinyl finishes:

1- No Wax Finish

The lightest finishing is the no-wax finish. It is most affordable as well but might not be a great option for heavy or medium foot traffic, also lesser resistant to moisture and dirt.

2- Urethane Finish

Urethane finishes are more durable comparatively, is easy to clean and resistant to scuffing as well, is able to sustain medium foot traffic, giving it quite some edge over the no wax finish.

3- Enhanced Urethane Finish

The toughest one in the list of finishes is the enhanced urethane finish. It is more durable than any other, and the extra polishing layer on top gives it resistance to scratches and easy to maintain without a car. It can entertain the heaviest of foot traffic.

A Comparison Of Vinyl Floors Against Other Flooring Options

Talking further about the comparisons, the following are some of the most common things to observe:

1- Ease Of Installation

Its biggest pro is also its ease of installation compared to the other flooring materials used in houses. Vinyl sheets need only stapled or glued to a pre-existing floor, and in case of floating vinyl, which cuts down most of the costs, it can just adhere directly to the floor. It can put over plywood, hardwood or concrete floor and also over an existing layer of vinyl.

2- Durability

The stain resistance and durability of vinyl flooring are hard to believe for a beginner. Being the best option as cost-friendly, it provides the durability of up to 20 years of only the outside wear and tears layer. This is why it is best recommended for places with heavy traffic as it can sustain heavy loads without affecting its design and durability.

3- Variety Of Styles And Designs

Its comfort and design go hand in hand as do the other features like ease of vinyl floor repairs. Vinyl’s designs are considered its greatest feature, with unlimited variety styles and designs making their way to you much cheaper than ever. It is much cheaper to create the look of stone or hardwood with the vinyl floor than using the actual materials. Its comfort is that of no comparison in flooring.

Some of the luxury vinyl has soundproofing properties making your room quiet and comfortable, also giving you a soft touch of elasticity while stepping on the floor.
